This will be a closed group exploring Contact Improvisation, an opportunity for women to meet on an ongoing basis to deepen investigation as a group (no drop-ins). The group will be open to mixed ability and all experience levels. We will explore presence in relation to self and other, investigating our own patterns and developing the possibilities for new pathways, expressivity, efficiency and integrity in movement. Activating sensory awareness, we will use physical communication as inspiration for creative expression. Topics will include:

·      Presence and intention – choice, letting go, saying yes and no to dances and within dances, slowing down, pause, initiating and ending dances, finding satisfaction in the dance

·      Proximity and distance – exploring space and kinesphere through movement

·      Breath and physical communication – intuitive flow and analytic thought, What is my agenda?

·      Levels of touch and intimacy – air, skin, muscle, bone

·      Partner as environment – how we think about ourselves and others

·      Listening through the senses – receptivity, surrender and expression, intention, commitment

·      Leading & following – How do listen and communicate at the same time?

·      Weight and power – giving and receiving in a dance with gravity

·      Eyes – shifting our experience by working with eyes closed, open, receptive, focused
