NonoDance
Is a performance collective dedicated to conceptually, visually, and aurally framed improvisation. Formed by Rosemary Hannon and Vitali Kononov in 2007, Nono Dance investigates the somatic realms of dance and performance. Nono’s improvisational work explores expanded awareness trhough non-doing. This authenticity in performance elicits a shared experiential field with the audience, offering somatic resonance and rich imagined non-linear narratives.
Rosemary and Vitali began an ongoing dance partnership teaching and performing at the American Dance Festival in North Carolina in 2004, and continued working together at the West Coast Contact Improvisation Festival, Moment’s Notice and Counterpulse in San Francisco. In 2007 Vitali and Rosemary formed _nonodance company, a performing dance collective investigating improvisation and somatics.
